About VENUS
The Venus range is produced by Distillerie Francoli, one of Italy’s most respected Spirits and Wines producers. The company was founded in 1951 by Luigi Francoli, whose family had for generations practiced the art of Grappa distillation.

The plant where Venus is produced is in Ghemme, a small country town in Piemonte, in the north west of Italy, near lake Maggiore and the Alps. The high standard of quality in the production is guaranteed by the “Grade A” of the BRC certificate (Global Standard Food), the “Higher Level” of the IFS (International Food Standard) and the ISO 9001:2008 certificate.
All the energy required by the plant’s production process is obtained from burning the dried “vinaccia” (grape pomace).
Furthermore Distillerie Francoli commissioned a study to measure the quantity of carbon they emit during their industrial and commercial activities.
The study also calculated how many trees are necessary to absorb the emitted carbon in order to transform Distillerie Francoli into a “Zero Impact” company for the atmosphere.
The area selected for planting is in Costa Rica, due to the unique biodiversity of its forest and the policies of its government, which are favourable to the conservation of its national forestry.
The entire project, implemented thanks to the expertise and guaranteed commitment of the technical partner LifeGate, was undertaken on 1st March 2006. Distillerie Francoli’s period of custody for the assigned area of forest is 40 years. A regulatory third-party, conforming to the standards UNI CEI EN 45011 and accredited for biological certification, will guarantee the application of the correct methodology.
